Having fun and realtime help: SecondLife

While this forum is great for getting support, sometimes you need to kick back and socialize, learn a little more about calibration, and just have fun.

Lion AV has an island in SecondLife that contains all sorts of interesting things and people to meet. Now what is SecondLife? It's a virtual 3d world of people and places where you can communicate in realtime. It also allows for watching movies and demonstrations of color adjustment and calibration. (This is coming soon.)

Currently, it is a work in progress but if you are on you can always find someone who can show you around.

To get started, go to http://www.secondlife.com and click on Join now. Create a profile, download the SecondLife viewer, and install it. Sign in with the profile you have created and you will start out on a Help Island which walks you through the very basic steps of walking around, chatting, and more.

Now, click on this link: http://slurl.com/secondlife/FairChan...ino/131/111/21

This is called a SL URL or SecondLife URL and will teleport you to the Lion AV Island. Once there, have a drink, watch some movies, chat with others, and have fun!

A small caution: SecondLife is for adults and does contain some things that you may find objectionable. While we try to maintain our island as PG as we can, some things are simply out of our control.

"WOW!!"

"You could see wrinkles in Willis's Tux Tie during the Opera scene and the flesh tones were great. Just absolutely stunning."

" Little things that I used to notice (a slight blue or red tinge to a white word or a slight bow to a straight line) were gone. And the detail that you could now see was amazing. If you have a big screen projection TV, you owe it to yourself and your TV to get it calibrated. And I can't recommend Gregg enough."
